Editor - heightmap tool crashes editor

Post by Skuggasveinn » Wed Jun 12, 2019 10:47 pm

Hi

I've been playing around with the editor.
If I go into the heightmap tool I always crash the editor with the following error.

lib/resource_manager.lua:0: File not found: data/textures/editor_heightmap_brush_soft.png
stack traceback:
[C]: in function 'shb_create_texture_from_file'
lib/resource_manager.lua: in function 'shb_load_texture'
editor.lua: in function <editor.lua:0>
editor.lua: in function 'update_editor'
main.lua: in function 'display'
main.lua: in function <main.lua:0>

kind regards.
Skuggasveinn.

Same thing here. I enable it, and the editor crashes. :o

Many thanks! We'll fix it in the next version.

Hello Isaac & Skuggasveinn!

Just an FYI - I've been working on upgrading the Grimrock Model Editor to work with Druidstone - it should be done over the weekend so adding custom models and weapons etc should be possible :).

Fantastic news! [I did try it last night, on the off chance the format was identical; or close enough for the GMT to load... it wasn't.]

minmay has recently made some changes to the Bitcopy [Blender] script—which itself had become a tremendous asset [for Grimrock modders] even before he improved it. The script supports LoG1 and 2 models and animation import/export.

*Just something to know about (and try out), if you didn't already. It would be quite the tool if there could there be an official Blender import / export plugin for these games. One that supports all three variations of the format.

@Isaac: I went a bit overboard... Instead of upgrading the GMT I decided to start from scratch in C++ as an experiment to try out Dear ImGUI. The plan with this tool is also to have something which can be used for future games easier - i.e. with "import/export" modules. In V1, this will just allow you to port Grimrock content straight to Druidstone, but the big picture dream one day is to also add other games as well... :p

Anyway - nothing super impressive to share yet - I'm about 1 programmer day from getting the scene rendering finished and then probably another day from getting import/export of Druidstone and Grimrock models done. Not sure when I will find those days, but when I do, I will release a very early alpha version!
