[SOLVED] [Semi-Bug, low priority] Game randomly crashes on Linux with Wine/Proton.

Post by DarkWav » Sat May 18, 2019 4:36 pm

Hello, linux user here, I just tested the game through Steam Play and through Vanilla Wine + DXVK, and the game runs really well, smooth and stutter-free, until, ocassionaly, it will just freeze and stop working completely during attacks. This only occurs during attacks on enemys, and at no other point or situation in the game. Sometimes the Attacks work just fine, but sometimes they will crash the game. Literrary everything else is working fine. I understand that this game was made for Windows-only in the first place and that bugs related to emulators are prioritized very low, but I thought it would be helpfull to report the problem anyways.
PS: I'm using NVIDIA with 430.14 drivers.
Thanks for your efforts in advance ;) .

Can you verify that this happens only when using an attack that uses elemental damage type (e.g. fire or lightning spell)? I just fixed a related bug...

It is very likely to only happen with elemental attacks from what i've seen. I used no elemental attacks at all and guess what? The game runs flawlessly! I hope 1.0.18 will make the game linux-ready, that would be so awesome :)

Well, congratulations, sir, version 1.0.18 runs flawlessly for multiple hours straight. The game itself is also very impressive from what i've seen, although its quite hard even on easy mode  . I think its time to rate the game "Platinum" on protondb.com.
