[SOLVED] Is the absolutely first mission possible to complete 100% (to not get damage at all)?

Hi

Loving the game :)

But I've been playing even at Easy mode the very first mission (Trufflecap Heaven) for maybe 30 times now and I just can't figure out how to NOT get any damage in it (mostly because Oiko isn't movable in that mission).

Is it possible to complete this mission 100%?

Not possible when first starting out - later you can replay the mission when your characters progress a bit more and it becomes possible to complete the mission with no damage. This is basically how the game plays - the first time you play a mission your characters will barely be able to make the primary objective. Later on, you come back and replay with stronger characters and get the bonus perks.

Yes, it is possible (done it on hard). The Warden takes out the top enemy on the left and the Ranger kites the bottom left enemies to the left of the tree barrier (and tings one of their health a little bit) - if they go right of the tree barrier, they'll be close enough to the mage to reach him next turn and there will be too many enemies. The mage will take out the one nearest him. When the three reinforcements show up, only two can reach the mage (who won't move) so have the Warden kill one, the mage will take out the other. The bugs that went left of the trees won't be able to reach you this turn and the Ranger can kill the one she damaged last turn. Now there's only two enemies left and the Warden and Mage will take them out.

I'm about a dozen missions in on Hard mode and so far there's no mission I haven't been able to clear the bonus objectives on in the first playthrough. The bonus objective are certainly not necessary, but my experience thus far has been that every bonus objective is possible the first time you play each mission - it's just hard and will likely have you doing things that aren't intuitive or obvious. The game does keep getting harder, maybe that won't be true on later missions but I suspect if you take enough time on missions you'll be able to fully clear each one in one go.

Thanks, yeah I just noticed also that once you level up this mission is piece of cake to 100% on hard even.

Aava on Level 3 and with Power Attack (can kill a slug straight with a single arrow) was the key.

But i'm now intrigued to play this through without the Power Attack if Shmerper was also able to do it :)

EDIT:
Hey Shmerper , I was able to complete the level with no damage if I got a extra Action Point from an enemy, but not if I didn't.

So, how exactly do you kite the bottom two slugs? The slug named Antti always goes to the other route like in the image:

Yeah this is a bit stupid obsession, but in my mind it shouldn't be so difficult to get 100% or three stars so early in the game... :/

Hey Manu! Have you checked the Guard ability?

Hey Manu, my guess from your screenshot is that the Warden is close enough to the bottom of the tree barrier so that Antti is targeting him. I don't remember exactly where I was when I did it but I know my Warden was closer to where your Ranger is (while still being able to hit the middle reinforcement bug). Remember that his Charge ability (I think that's what it's called) will move him an extra square to make his attack, which basically gives you an extra movement square; it doesn't end your turn either, you can move after doing it.

Petri brings up an interesting alternative strategy - the bugs hit for 2 damage, right? The Warden's Guard will block all of that and kill the first bug that comes near him. The only issue would be to make sure that the bugs target him instead of the Mage. Good luck to you, it sounds like you've already got a handle on the level. And don't worry too much, I understand the obsession of being a perfectionist on games like this (I imagine a lot of other people do too).

Thanks for the input :) Yes, Petri's suggestion seems to be the way to go (obviously, I guess the level even might be his design :P). I thought I had a go with the Guard ability but I actually thought the Warden was getting hit even though he blocked the attacks. Some sort of Kling-sound and a different colored "0" would be better to indicate the attack being blocked :/

So, the Guard ability is actually more important than I thought... lesson learned.

Anyway, consistently now passing the level 100% with hard, I'm satisfied :) Thank you all!
